MERTI Endoscopic Rotational Tying Instrument

The development of this new multi-purpose needle holder along with a spur loop forming member opens a new frontier of intracorporal knot tying for tissue approximation. All types of suturing techniques which are used in open surgery can be employed with this new method of instrumentation. For maximum efficiency one uses paired left and right instruments where the loop forming spur is directed clockwise and counterclockwise respectively. This direction of the spur promotes forward rotation movement and ease of knot tying.
